Smuha
Family Resilience Project
“Smuha” is United Help Ukraine’s new effort to address the mental health of children and families impacted by the war in Ukraine.
Smuha means “path”, “lane” or “line” in Ukrainian, and symbolizes the way forward even in the most difficult conditions.
Smuha has multiple components, to address the needs of children and those who care for them. Through our program, we will:
- Build the capacity of mental health professionals across Ukraine to better support young children and their parents
- Provide family-centered therapeutic activities and groups of support for parents
- Support the psychosocial and mental health needs of adolescents who have been displaced by war
- Create child friendly and play-focused spaces where young children can feel safe and comforted
