Thank you to everyone who joined us in welcoming our Ukrainian hero, Heorhii Roshka, as he arrived in Washington DC to receive a prosthetic arm and rehabilitation.
Heorhii is a marine from Azovstal who showed incredible bravery defending the freedom of Ukraine. He was wounded in battle and lost his arm a month before the order to surrender. Along with his fellow soldiers, he was taken as a prisoner of war by Russian forces. When finally released, Heorhii was among the wounded and in a frail state, bearing the physical toll of his experiences, but his resilient spirit remained unshaken.
Through the wounded warrior program of United Help Ukraine, we have the opportunity to support courageous individuals who have been injured in battle. With your generous contributions, we can cover all non-medical expenses, including transportation and living costs, as they receive complete prostheses and rehabilitation at the Medical Center Orthotics and Prosthetics in Silver Spring, Maryland.
