It is inconceivable that U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff would say to Vladimir Putin’s face, for the world to hear: “You talk so much about my president, President Trump, being a humanitarian. You are a humanitarian also, sir, and I salute that.”
Let’s be clear: Putin is not a humanitarian. He is a murderous dictator.
According to the United Nations,at least 16,874 Ukrainian civilians, including 820 children, have been killed since Russia launched its full-scale invasion, and 51,273 more have been injured.
On Monday, October 19, 2026, a Russian drone struck a park in Nova Vodolaha, in the Kharkiv region, killing 14-month-old Angelina in her stroller. Her mother, Inna, later died in the hospital.
Behind every number is a family like theirs.
This week, President Trump said that “Russia, frankly, has been fine on Ukraine. They haven’t been doing much.” The facts say otherwise.
The UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine reported that the first two weeks of October were among the deadliest for civilians in years. That follows the deadliest September of the full-scale war, when at least 328 Ukrainian civilians were killed and 2,105 were injured.
Russia is not fine on Ukraine.
What is happening is not just wrong. It is outrageous. Ukraine’s future should not be decided as a bargaining chip between Washington and Moscow.
This comes on top of President Trump’s disparaging comments about President Zelenskyy and the pressure he is placing on Ukraine to end the war, which would mean ceding Ukrainian territory. That runs against the views of most Americans, who oppose Ukraine giving in to Russia. Americans also believe that even if Ukraine agreed to a ceasefire, Russia would not hold up its end of the deal.
We’ve had enough, and they have gone too far. We aren’t going to play this game.
