Washington, DC, Feb. 13, 2025 – As Ukraine marks the third anniversary of Russia’s brutal and genocidal war, Americans and allies will gather for a mass rally on Saturday, February 22, at 2 p.m. ET at the Lincoln Memorial to reaffirm unwavering support for Ukraine’s fight for freedom and honor those who have sacrificed their lives. Although the full-scale invasion began in 2022, Russia’s aggression started in 2014 with the illegal annexation of Crimea and its relentless assault on the eastern part of Ukraine.
For three years, Ukraine has withstood thousands of relentless missile and drone attacks targeting its cities, and towns, including vital infrastructure, hospitals, schools, as well cultural and historic sites. Russia’s assault is not just an attack on Ukraine’s sovereignty—it is an attack on the fundamental values of freedom, democracy, and human rights. Yet, through these dark times, the Ukrainian people have shown remarkable courage and resilience, standing firm against tyranny with the steadfast support of the United States and its allies.
The rally, organized by Ukrainian-American organizations—including U.S. Ukrainian Activists, United Help Ukraine, the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America, Razom for Ukraine, Ukraine House, People of Ukraine Foundation, and Nova Ukraine—in cooperation with the Embassy of Ukraine in the U.S. and the Honorary Consulate of Ukraine (Philadelphia, PA), will feature keynote speeches, an ecumenical prayer, and a musical tribute. This gathering serves as a powerful demonstration of solidarity between the Ukrainian and American people and a call to sustain global support for Ukraine.
