United Help Ukraine’s (UHU) prestigious humanitarian awards gala shines a spotlight on partners who are making a profound impact on our cause and the Ukrainian people.

Evening Highlights:

  • World-Class Entertainment: Prepare to be mesmerized by captivating performances that will elevate your gala experience to new heights!
    Freckled Sky, an American entertainment company with Ukrainian roots, gained international fame with their 2015 Golden Buzzer-winning holographic water show on America’s Got Talent. Known for producing award-winning shows across four continents, they specialize in next-generation live mixed-reality performances, experiences, and attractions with a cinematic touch.
    TRI.Direction, a Ukrainian creative direction talent collective and the creative soul of Freckled Sky, has directed acclaimed TV projects like The Voice and Dancing with the Stars, earning international awards. Together, they’ve produced award-winning shows across four continents, including performances for artists like P!nk, Paula Abdul, and Lil Yachty.
    Daria Kolomiec, a cultural activist, producer, and DJ, created the “Diary of War” podcast and brought real stories told by Ukrainians at war to theatrical stages in the US. She was included in Time Magazine’s Next Generation Leaders list and featured in The New York Times and other media outlets for her promotion of Ukrainian culture abroad.
    Valeriia Vovk, a Ukrainian singer and songwriter known for her captivating folk and pop performances, has garnered millions of social media views and joined the 2024 Cultural Forces U.S. tour with Ukrainian military personnel to promote Ukrainian culture.
    Gerdan, a folk ensemble blending Eastern European melodies with modern arrangements, has been a vibrant part of United Help Ukraine’s 10-year history, enriching their cultural events with their unique sound.
  • Award Ceremony & Special Appearances: Hear from U.S. and Ukrainian dignitaries and award recipients about the importance of UHU’s mission and witness the recognition of our dedicated partners and supporters.
    Ambassador Oksana Markarova, the current Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States since February 2021, is a former Minister of Finance in the governments of Volodymyr Groysman and Oleksiy Honcharuk. With a master’s degree in Public Finance and Trade from Indiana University, she has a distinguished background, including roles as an economic policy advisor, manager at the Western NIS Enterprise Fund, and head of the board at ITT-Invest and the Investment Group ITT.
    US Congressman Jamie Raskin, serving as the U.S. Representative for Maryland’s 8th congressional district since 2017, previously held a seat in the Maryland State Senate from 2007 to 2016. An attorney and law professor, Congressman Raskin is a dedicated advocate for Ukraine, consistently emphasizing the critical importance of Ukraine’s struggle for national sovereignty, democracy, and freedom.
    Mitzi Perdue, a speaker, author, and war correspondent, has visited Ukraine three times since the full-scale invasion and published over 100 articles in major outlets such as the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and Newsweek. She has appeared on more than 200 podcasts, often conducting interviews from bomb shelters in cities under attack, and is dedicated to promoting democracy and supporting Ukraine in achieving lasting freedom and prosperity.
    Dr. Yuri Deychakiwsky, a cardiologist in Bethesda, Maryland, and Ukrainian activist, has served as a board member of United Help Ukraine and supports numerous Ukrainian causes and nonprofits. He received his medical degree from Ohio State University College of Medicine and has been in practice for over 30 years.
    Janice Hamilton, a professional actress, singer, spokesperson, and auctioneer, is known for her roles in Boynton Beach Club and Hallmark’s Royal Makeover. She also starred in As the World Turns and Miami Sands and has leveraged her auctioneering expertise to raise millions for charities across the country.

  • Photography Exhibit: Immerse yourself in photojournalist Allan Mestel’s gripping exhibit, which vividly chronicles his journey through war-torn Ukraine and showcases the inspiring stories behind UHU’s impactful programs.
