United For Ukraine

Add to calendar

Join us on Sunday, October 20th for an evening to support Ukraine, hosted by United Help Ukraine in partnership with Theresa Pugh and Kateryna Shapovalenko. Together with American and Ukrainian families, United Help Ukraine is raising crucial funds to support essential aid programs, helping thousands as Ukraine prepares for a harsh winter and faces widespread electricity outages in homes, hospitals, and schools.

This 2024 fundraiser builds on the success of a 2022 event hosted in Theresa Pugh’s front yard in Alexandria, where 300 neighbors came together to raise $19,000 for six Ukrainian charities at the onset of the war. Inspired by this effort, the Shapovalenko family in Ukraine and the Pugh family continue to work together, providing much-needed assistance to Ukrainians in need.

What to Expect:
• Welcoming Remarks: Enjoy a video greeting from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy (To be confirmed), remarks from the Embassy of Ukraine (To be confirmed) and Ukraine House, and hear from United Help Ukraine President & Executive Director Maryna Baydyuk as she shares about their impactful work and recent successes.
• Explore Historic Ukraine House: Take a self-guided tour of Ukraine House, located in the charming Kalorama neighborhood of Washington, D.C.
• Delicious Ukrainian Cuisine: Savor a variety of traditional dishes from the renowned Ruta restaurant, celebrated for its authentic Ukrainian flavors.
Unique Silent Auction: Bid on 50 exclusive items, including a vacation cottage in North Carolina, a Ukrainian army flag, jewelry, art made from shell casings, gift cards, and more.
• Live Entertainment: Enjoy performances by American Motown & soul singer Lou Neeley and Ukrainian pop-folk artist Yuliia Neduzhko.
• Networking Opportunities: Connect with like-minded individuals and engage in meaningful conversations with others passionate about our cause.

Impact of Your Tax-Deductible Contribution:

• Humanitarian Aid: Food and essentials to displaced families and other communities.
• Defender’s Aid: Medical training and rehabilitation programs for Ukraine’s defenders.

Together, we can make a meaningful impact in this critical time of escalating Russian aggression.

Your ticket includes a dinner, open bar, live music, access to the silent auction, and a portion that qualifies as a tax-deductible donation. If you can’t attend but wish to contribute, you can donate here, hold a fundraiser in your community, or consider a corporate partnership.

We look forward to seeing you for dinner and music on Sunday, October 20th, 2024!
