Ostap Yarysh is a Media Advisor at Razom for Ukraine. Born and raised in Ukraine, Ostap has over 15 years of experience in journalism and media communications. Prior to joining Razom, he worked for Voice of America, where he actively covered U.S.-Ukraine defense cooperation and relations between Washington and Kyiv. Additionally, he reported on the 2024 and 2020 U.S. presidential elections, as well as the 2022 and 2018 midterm elections for Congress, racial protests in the U.S., and other major political events in America. In 2021, he published the non-fiction book This is America, which explores pressing social and political issues in the U.S. through the stories of ordinary Americans.
Andriy Shevchenko is a prominent Ukrainian politician, diplomat, journalist, and civil activist. He co-founded the 5th Channel, Ukraine’s first 24/7 TV news channel, and worked with various media, including 1+1 and Voice of America. He was a Member of the Ukrainian Parliament from 2006 to 2014. He was the Ukrainian Ambassador to Canada and ICAO from 2015 to 2021. Following Russia’s re-invasion of Ukraine in 2022, he co-founded Media Center Ukraine to support foreign journalists. In 2023, he served as Deputy Minister of Defence. He is currently the Head of Mission in Ukraine at the Ukrainian World Congress.
Adrian Karmazyn had a 27-year career in the Ukrainian Service of the Voice of America (VOA). He held the position of chief of the service from 2005 to 2015. Since his retirement from VOA he has been affiliated with the US-Ukraine Foundation, the Transatlantic Task Force for Ukraine, the Council on Foundations, and The Ukrainian Weekly. In the fall of 2021 he taught at the Institute of Journalism of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv under the auspices of the Fulbright Program.
