We are deeply grateful to everyone who joined us yesterday for our annual picnic, marking a decade of helping people and saving lives. Being surrounded by our UHU family and friends, dancing to Ukrainian music, enjoying delicious food, and celebrating our collective achievements was truly special.
We extend our gratitude to Her Excellency, Ambassador Oksana Markarova, for addressing the crowd and reminding us why we work tirelessly to aid those impacted by the war in Ukraine. We appreciate the Ambassador and her colleagues from the Embassy of Ukraine in the USA finding time in their extremely busy schedule and joining our celebration.
We are also grateful to Defence Attache Major General Borys Kremenetskyi and Colonel Oleksandr Rozhkov for attending our event and presenting special recognition awards and signed flags from the 5th brigade to UHU’s members Maryna Baydyuk, Gleb Latnik, and Maryia Maryia.
One of the most moving moments of the day was the standing ovation given to the wounded warriors present, who are in DC to receive rehabilitation and prosthetics. These real heroes have sacrificed so much to protect Ukraine’s freedom, and it was an honor to be in their presence.
Thank you to the incredible performers who joined us, U-Generation, Gerdan, and VODA as well as children from the DC Music Academy for putting on an amazing show!
After another year of hard work, it was wonderful to come together to celebrate our achievements and thank our friends, donors, and partners for their incredible support. Together to victory!
