Our United Help Ukraine donors have made so much possible — and we want you to see exactly what that support has achieved. This is the first in an ongoing series spotlighting real stories of your impact, straight from Ukraine.
UHU is thrilled to share that, thanks to the support of donors like you, a record 300 backpacks filled with school supplies arrived in Ukraine just in time for the first day of school. We’re deeply grateful for the generosity shown during our annual Back to School Campaign.
Each backpack was carefully packed by our dedicated team of staff and volunteers, filled with essential items to help students start the year prepared, even as they live through war. Once packed, the backpacks made their way to Ukraine.
Distributed through our local partners in Chernihiv, Kyiv, Kryvyi Rih, Khmilnyk (Vinnytsia region), and other communities, these backpacks reached the children of fallen Ukrainian heroes, internally displaced youth, and others in need — equipping them with everything necessary for a successful year ahead.
The first 50 backpacks were handed out in Chernihiv at our
SMUHA project hub, which provides trauma support for children, and at our Little Heroes Project, which focuses on mine awareness and safety.
Thank you again to our donors who made this vital initiative possible, giving Ukrainian students living through this war the school supplies they need for a successful year. Your generosity means everything.
