When air raid sirens interrupt the school day, Ukrainian students don’t stop learning. They move underground.
Thanks to the generosity of schools across the city of Düsseldorf and the incredible partnership of UkraineHilfe Düsseldorf and AVP – Akzeptanz, Vertrauen, Perspektive e.V., up to 3,000 desks and 6,000 chairs are being donated to schools in Ukraine. The first two trucks have already been delivered, with additional shipments on the way to Chernihiv, Chernivtsi, and the Kyiv region.
These desks and chairs will help furnish school bomb shelters, creating safe spaces where children can continue their education despite the ongoing war.
Thank you to the schools, teachers, volunteers, the city of Düsseldorf, Ukraine Hilfe Düsseldorf, AVP e.V., and everyone who made this initiative possible. Together, we are helping ensure that Ukrainian children have the opportunity to keep learning, no matter the circumstances.
