Veteran Programs and Opportunities: Supporting Those Who Served

Veteran Programs and Opportunities

On Ukraine’s Armed Forces Day, we express our profound gratitude to all who serve and defend Ukraine. Their courage, resilience, and sacrifice safeguard our families, protect the nation, and uphold the values of peace and freedom. We honor Ukrainian Defenders today — and every day.

Since 2014, United Help Ukraine has stood strong in our mission to provide life-saving support through our Medical, Humanitarian, and Defender’s Aid programs. Our commitment remains unwavering — and we will not be stopped. We stand united in our support to save lives!

Undergoing Prosthetics For Ukrainian Veterans

On the 7th, December on Ukraine’s Armed Forces Day, we were honored to welcome our partners from the Protez Foundation — CEO Yura Aroshidze and three brave Ukrainian warriors currently undergoing prosthetics in the U.S. — to our Washington, D.C. office.

We are proud of this partnership and the life-changing support it brings, made possible by our united efforts and our incredible community of donors. United, we save lives, give hope, and remain steadfast in our mission to support those who need it most.

Flight to Recovery Project: Professional Reintegration and Transition to Civilian Life for Ukrainian Veterans

We are pleased to announce the start of a joint work with Dignitas within the “Flight to Recovery” project, aimed at supporting Ukrainian veterans in their professional reintegration and transition to civilian life.

This partnership carries an important humanitarian mission: together, we are creating safe space for veterans to learn, develop, and explore new professional paths. The support of Dignitas enables us to involve more participants and provide them with quality equipment, professional instruction, and access to modern technologies. United, we’re building a safe and supportive space where veterans can learn, develop new skills, and explore new professional opportunities.

“Flight to Recovery” joint project aims to:
• provide veterans with practical skills in working with unmanned technologies;
• create a supportive environment for recovery, communication, and peer connection;
• enhance their opportunities for future employment;
• strengthen the economic resilience of communities by engaging veterans in high-demand professions.

Right now, within the “Flight to Recovery” project, four groups of veterans are already operating in the Kyiv region and one in the Lviv region.

Support Defenders on the Frontlines

On the frontlines, every second can mean the difference between life and death.

United Help Ukraine’s International Center for Tactical Medicine (Міжнародний центр тактичної медицини ІСТМ UHU (ICTM)) trains Ukrainian defenders—including soldiers, medics, and combat personnel—in trauma care, hemorrhage control, and other life-saving techniques. ICTM ensures they are prepared to act fast when it matters most.

For December, the 10th International Center for Tactical Medicine has trained 25,000 defenders, empowering them to save lives and strengthen medical resilience across Ukraine.
