Meaning of Scalable Mental Health Programs in Ukraine

Why does Ukraine need scalable mental health programs? Recent statistics are stark and raise significant concerns for the future.

• The State Statistics Service of Ukraine shows that as of January 2025, over 4.5 million Ukrainians are Internally Displaced Persons.
• The Ministry of Veterans Affairs says that as of October 2025, at least 1.3 million Ukrainians have the status of a combat operations veteran.
• The UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission (HRMM) reveals that as of September 2025, over 14,000 civilians have been killed and 36,500 wounded in Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
• The increase in victims and injuries in the first nine months of 2025 is 31% higher than in the same period of the previous year.
