Help us aid the brave people of Ukraine

Your donations and support provide essential supplies and services to the Ukrainian people.

Defender's Aid

United Help Ukraine's Defender's Aid Program provides supplies such as boots, helmets, protective equipment and tactical first aid kits to first responders and members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Territorial Defense Forces, National Guard, law enforcement agencies, and volunteer units. In addition, UHU donates thermal wear, drones, radios, generators, satellite communications devices, and evacuation vehicles for those on the frontlines. Since the program's inception in 2014, UHU has distributed more than 45,000 tactical first aid kits, 130,000 tourniquets, 4,000 bulletproof vests, and 4,000 helmets. First aid supplies include QuikClot wound dressings to stop heavy bleeding. In addition, UHU has sponsored tactical-medicine training for more than 4,500 defenders and is opening a new United Help Ukraine TacMed training center with capacity to provide certified training for about 1,000 defenders and combat medics per month. “Through our Defender's Aid Program, we are able to provide vital supplies to support the brave individuals fighting every day for Ukrainian sovereignty and the freedom of the Ukrainian people.”  Maryna Baydyuk, President, UHU

Humanitarian Welfare

United Help Ukraine's Humanitarian Welfare Program supports internally displaced persons (IDPs) and other civilians with food, clean water (especially in besieged areas) and everyday necessities. In addition, UHU distributes power generators and vehicles for first responders and rescuers, which are donated in the U.S. and shipped to Ukraine. In July 2023, UHU funded delivery of a mobile blood-collection vehicle to the First Medical Association in Lviv, Ukraine. The vehicle was donated by the nonprofit organization Carter BloodCare of Texas and will enable increased donations of blood to save the lives of Ukrainian defenders. UHU also supports sustainable projects for the long-term benefit of the Ukrainian people. In the spring of 2023, UHU and a partner organization supplied 1,166 kits full of fruit and vegetable seeds to residents of liberated territories in the Kharkiv region. Each was filled with a dozen seed packets to help civilians replant crops destroyed by Russian occupiers. “The lifeblood of our nation has always been its people. Our Humanitarian Welfare Program allows us to provide food, water, and other critical supplies directly to those who are most in need so they may continue to survive during this time of war.” Maryna Baydyuk, President, UHU

Medical Aid

United Help Ukraine’s Medical Aid Program provides supplies and equipment to state-run and military hospitals across Ukraine. We also help cover medical expenses for wounded service members and veterans and offer additional support for living and travel costs for those who require long-term treatment. Two smaller components of the program promote the mental wellness of civilians traumatized by war and pay for travel to the U.S. for amputee defenders in need of prostheses, physical therapy and emotional support. Through purchases, partnerships, and in-kind donations from the U.S. and abroad, we obtain and distribute everything from syringes to ventilators and other life-saving operating-room equipment. The State of Maryland donated several ventilators that we transported to hospitals in need.                                                  This program also provides triage-training funds to help medical providers in Ukraine handle mass-casualty events. UHU has a joint venture with the Syrian American Medical Association in Washington, D.C., and the Ukrainian Medical Association called Project 22. This collaboration supplies a network of 22 hospitals on the front lines with resources to handle mass casualties. “Medical aid is incredibly crucial during this time of intense conflict, and our Medical Aid Program allows us to provide much-needed, life-saving  supplies to hospitals and other medical facilities across Ukraine.” Maryna Baydyuk, President, UHU

Raising Awareness

United Help Ukraine’s Awareness, Advocacy and Community Engagement Campaign increases understanding of what’s happening in Ukraine and its implications for the world. We advocate for Ukrainian freedom, independence, democracy and postwar reconstruction. We do this by engaging with communities in the U.S. and around the world through cultural events, fundraisers, speaking engagements, and more. In summer 2023, UHU organized a U.S. tour for top Ukrainian band Probass ∆ Hardi to raise funds for medical and humanitarian aid for the people of Ukraine. The band also performed on UHU’s float in the National Independence Day Parade in Washington, D.C., as we represented Ukraine and thanked the American people for their ongoing support of Ukraine. “Core to our efforts is ensuring we have community support and engagement. United Help Ukraine works globally to continue to raise awareness around the events on the ground in Ukraine and continue to encourage support for our defenders.”  Maryna Baydyuk, President, UHU
