The truck with donations is off to Rivne

The truck that you saw in our earlier post is now off to be delivered to Rivne! Thanks to the Ann Arbor community and the Zen Buddhist temple who organized this food collection, 5 tons of food and $15,000 to additionally buy food in bulk, will be delivered to Rivne to benefit the thousands of IDP that have fled their homes to safety. We have been closely working with this community in Rivne to ensure all of their needs are met during this time of uncertainty and fear, as individuals wait until the next step of fleeing to other areas or until they know they can safely return home.
This food container is covered in beautiful drawings from local Ann Arbor artists that were inspired by Ukrainian themes in their artwork, along with the drawings from the many children that painted the main side of this container. Once it is delivered to Rivne, it will be kept by the Rivne community to be used as necessary storage. This is not just a “simple” storage container: people will look at it every day and see signs of hope and support from a community an ocean away. We hope they will feel that the whole world is on their side and ready to help!
