Vacation in the Carpathians for veterans and their families

It’s a pleasure to see the war veterans smiling and playing with their kids during a week-long summer retreat in the Carpathian Mountains. Once again, thanks to our donors, United Help Ukraine was able to sponsor the family rehabilitation program for veterans and their families.

The program is designed by war doctor Vsevolod Stebliuk and psychologist Katerina Pronoza. The first two groups enjoyed the snow in the Carpathians. But this third group came in August. The time was filled with trips to the mountains and museums of traditional Hutsul culture, taking a master class in musical instruments, including the “trembita”,

…riding the Hutsul pony…

…and swimming in the Chorny Cheremosh river, fishing and eating trout, swimming in the waterfall and attending the Hutsul sauna…

the individual and family conversations with the professional psychologist, taking a cooking master class and shish-kebab preparation, group games, a birthday celebration, and a trip to the famous Kosiv ethnographic bazaar. Take a look at these pictures, they are worth a thousand words.
